Types of Planters:

We offer three main types of plant pots: hanging planters, tabletop planters, or wall planters. Depending on where you are hoping to display your plants, choosing the right style of planter can make a big difference.

You can even use our Modern Wall Planter or Triangle Wall Planter as a vase if you'd like! If you use fasteners with small heads, it is easy to take the planter off the wall for cleaning.

Planting Tips for our Porcelain Planters:

If you are planting directly in the plant pot, we recommend putting a small layer of pebbles or stones in the planter to aid with drainage. Our planters are water tight and won't leak or stain with use.

Alternatively, you can just use the planter as a decorative plant pot and simply place your plant pot inside. This is especially helpful for plants that like to be more aerated around their roots or require frequent drainage, such as orchids.

Make sure that if you are planting in a hanging pot to make sure that your soil line is below the cording holes to prevent water damage to the cording.

Tips for choosing Drainage:

Adding drainage is a personal preference, but for most indoor planters we recommend no drainage for ease of watering, particularly if you are choosing a hanging planter. We have had many plants thrive for years without drainage, as long as you are careful not to over-water your plants.

If you are unsure, you can always get drainage and plug the holes later with silicone or wax.

We can custom make any planter with drainage, so if you are seeing something that doesn't come with a drainage option, feel free to reach out to us and we are happy to help!

How to clean your porcelain planter:

All of our planters are easily cleaned with soapy water and a sponge. If you get a stubborn stain for any reason, take a small piece of fine grit sandpaper to buff the surface.

Using your planter outdoors:

Your new Niik planter can be used indoors & outdoors. If you have a hanging planter, install in a sheltered area for longevity of the cording and make sure that the planter can't hit anything hard in the case of high winds. We recommend replacing your cording with paracord or a similar synthetic strap if you are planning to keep your planter outdoors for extended periods of time.
