Presque Isle Art Fair for Marquette Art Week June 23rd, 2022 - APPLICATIONS OPEN

Hello fellow artists and creators!

We are so excited to bring back the Presque Isle Art Fair as part of Marquette Art week this year! The resident artists of the Presque Isle Station, Niik Creative Co., and Risak Pottery invite you to this afternoon Art Fair in Presque Isle Square.

This Fair is held in partnership with the Marquette Arts & Culture Center for Art Week, which runs June 20th-25th, 2022. The theme for art week this year is WATER, and while we will be honoring that by setting up near our beloved lake shore, please consider if you are looking for a thematic element in your displays or work.

The Art Fair will take place on Thursday, June 23rd from 11am-7pm on the front lawn of Presque Isle Square (2901 Island Beach Rd., MQT). We have limited spaces for 18-20 artists, and will also have a food truck, live music, and a (hopefully!) a beer tent in partnership with Barrel & Beam.

General guidelines for submissions include that your work must be hand-made and local to the U.P. area. P

lease upload a few images of your work so we can get a sense of what you do, as well as being able to use them in promotional materials for the fair. Any links to websites and social media platforms will also be used to share about the event. If you are able to do live demos of your art or have some interactive element to your booth, that is encouraged!

Vendors are responsible for their own tents, tables, and any other type of displays needed. Car access is available for set up/tear down. Currently, no electricity is available for booths, if you have specific needs please let me know and we will do our best to accommodate you. Set up begins at 8am. Porta potties will be available.

There is a $50 booth fee payable day-of the fair to help cover the cost of promotion, live music, and facilities.

In the event of inclimate weather, our rain date will be Saturday, June 25th during the same time period.

The deadline for submitting applications is Sunday, May 1st. The committee of resident artists will look over applicat

ions, and attendees will be notified by May 15th. Please note that we have limited space for vendors, but there are many other art markets happening throughout the week around Marquette. Contact the Marquette Arts & Culture Center for more info:

Please let Niikah know if you have any questions:

Thank you for your interest and we look forward to seeing your work!

**Originally the Art Fair was planned to be on Saturday, June 25th, but after much deliberation we have chosen to host on Thursday instead in conjunction with the Art Week. The city is hosting art week by location/day this year, and all Presque Isle events are taking place on Thursday. This means there will be increased foot traffic and promotion available, as the Art Fair will be the flagship event for the day. There will be a Saturday art show hosted by Graci Gallery and other artists in the Lakeshore Building area for those who would like to participate in both events - more info on that coming soon.
